Art Initiative Bangladesh is a non-profit organization functioning from Bangladesh. AIB aims to be a networking organization and a research hub to accomplish an inclusive and accessible platform for contemporary visual artists and creative workers of many extended disciplines of art in Bangladesh. We support creative infrastructure by developing resources, knowledge, opportunity, and collaboration. AIB is the local reference of Bangladeshi art scene and a global network for creative collaborations and exchange. We intend to create alternative infrastructure for contemporary creative practice of Bangladesh, through collective effort with a strong base of research, resource and innovation. AIB acknowledges the importance of ART as a strong tool for social change and creative workers as the much-needed protagonists.
Represented by Sadya Mizan Sadya Mizan, an independent curator, researcher and Arts manager. Founder of URONTO Artists Community in Bangladesh. Founding trustee of Art Initiative Bangladesh-AIB (2018). Her curatorial interest is in and around cross-disciplinary artistic experiments where community engagement and collective thought process plays a major role. Her ongoing research is about strategic planning, sustainability, inclusiveness and accessibility of art organization models and projects in different Geo-locations including South Africa, Colombia, New York, Berlin and Oslo. |
PhotoPeer Arts & Media Resource Foundation, Located in the eastern Indian city of Kolkata and founded in 2011, it is still a budding organization, with the motto of presenting and appreciating the new visions of the new visionaries. PhotoPeer is dedicated to providing a platform for young emerging artists working in the field of visual storytelling. They came into existence to encourage and promote visual expressions through the medium of photography. From humanitarian or human rights issues to pure imaginations and fantasy flights, we work without boundaries that label or curb the freedom of expressions.
Represented by Imran Ahmed Imran Ahmed, a freelance documentary photographer currently based in Kolkata. Besides practicing photography, He also run a non-profit photography organization called PhotoPeer Arts & Media Resource Foundation, to promote photography and use its power to create new expressions. |
LIVE HIVE RESIDENCY is a not for profit international community-building project. It is a part public – part private living space where artists can find a new dimension to their work in an eco driven safe environment. This Residency is aimed at creating a community of artists, especially create a network between Goan, Indian International artists, creating an opportunity for them to function in a broader interdisciplinary exchange. It fosters the seeds of a growing relationship where they are impelled to make works inspired by and in conjunction with the local communities and where they can come back with new projects with the indigenous artists of the region.
Represented by Mitali Nath Mitali Nath, a practicing multimedia artist and cultural developer, currently based in Siolim, Goa. She is working as a founder member of Live Hive-platform, she believes “.....Post truth praxis and embodiment is a new dimension to her lifelong search for what constitutes meaning and peace in today's world. TAC is an independent curatorial initiative by a group of individuals. From the beginning only, TAC is likely to engage with cross-cultural action research(in the context of methods and its dynamics) to be able to understand the pluralism of the time of ‘post-truth’ reality. More than cultural reproduction, we are working on ‘fluid understanding’ to make a safe space for diverse gender/color/ interest. We consider it is a safe space for cross-discipline networking and subversive communication around the world.
Represented by Kaur Chimuk Kaur Chimuk , a queer cultural writer and researcher, also working widely as a curator with a special interest in trans-disciplinary curatorial practice. Currently working from India also have a working base in Malmo, Sweden. For curatorial research, Kaur usually prefer to explore the possibilities of action-writing and conceptual documentation and hence in a way deal with the paradoxical case of the so-called 'performance-memories'.
